Just last month, Villanova Law was busy receiving a light slap on the wrist from the American Bar Association for the crime of falsifying admissions data to the ABA. Obviously, law schools misreport information to the ABA so that they can make the same false statements to U.S. News for the benefit of the law school rankings.

The College of Law snapshot data… [is] part of the university’s application for accreditation to the American Bar Association. The ABA has spoken out against law schools in the past that have intentionally inflated their test and GPA data.

The data [on University of Illinois Law School’s incoming class is] now under review had not yet been shared with the American Bar Association or publications that provide rankings.

The American Bar Association is backing his case. ‘Nearly 14 million Americans are arrested each year,’and many arrests ‘do not involve violence or drugs and do not suggest a motive or opportunity to smuggle contraband into a prison,’ the association wrote in a brief to the court.

The American Bar Association …said a policy allowing strip searches of all who are arrested would mean a drastic expansion of a procedure that the Supreme Court has called so intrusive it falls ‘into a category of its own.’

The discussion was moderated by Martha Barnett, former American Bar Association president. More than 1,300 people attended the event at the Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.

The American Bar Association announced Tuesday an international law forum in London later this month.

During the American Bar Association in Toronto last month a panel of in-house counsel was asked about the current state of hiring in their respective areas.

Retired Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor appeared at the dedication of a University of Florida Law School Building to be named after former American Bar Association president Stephen N. Zack.

The Sept. 23-24 ‘Symposium on Court Funding’ is sponsored by the American Bar Association, the Kentucky Law Journal and the National Center for State Courts, and it will feature ABA President Wm. T. (Bill) Robinson III (a University of Kentucky alum) as an honoree and keynote speaker, and immediate past ABA president Stephen N. Zack as a panelist.
