ABA Webinar Tackles Social Media and Health Care: Opportunities and Risks
CHICAGO, Jan. 16, 2013 — The American Bar Association will present “Social Media & Health Care: Opportunities and Risks,” a live CLE program and webinar 8:30 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Jan. 31, at Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP in Chicago.
The program will address how social media is rapidly changing health care providers’ operations and their interactions with patients and the public. Key topics include:
- Social media 101 (breakfast session);
- Social media trends in health care marketing;
- Aligning social media strategy with a health care organization’s mission; and
- Key legal issues for health care providers, including privacy, trademark/copyright infringement, defamation, e-discovery and more.
The program’s moderator is Robyn S. Shapiro, chair of the ABA Special Committee on Bioethics and the Law and partner, Drinker Biddle & Reath in Milwaukee; other speakers include Hilary Hansen, senior government relations manager, Drinker Biddle & Reath in Washington, D.C., and Drinker Biddle & Reath Chicago partners Jennifer Breuer, Darren Cahr and Stephanie Dodge Gournis.
