ABA House of Delegates Chair: How an Idea Becomes ABA Policy
The ABA House of Delegates has the ultimate responsibility for establishing association policy on professional and public issues. Robert M. Carlson, who presides over the 560-member body, explains how an idea becomes policy that may eventually have a nationwide or worldwide impact. “There’s no question that what happens at the House of Delegates makes a big difference,” said Carlson. “Members of Congress and their legislative staffs rely on the expertise that comes from the American Bar Association when they consider legislation.”
