ABA Endorses Equity for California’s LSAT Students with Disabilities
In a letter sent to California Gov. Edmund G. Brown Jr., American Bar Association President Laurel G. Bellows urged Brown to sign into law AB 2122, a bill to ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided with appropriate accommodations when taking law school admissions tests.
The ABA’s House of Delegates adopted policy in February 2012, brought by the association’s Commission on Disability Rights, in response to reports of students with disabilities being denied appropriate accommodations when taking the tests. The ABA policy is similar to the assembly bill expected to be considered shortly by Gov. Brown.
