2012 Pro Bono Publico Award Recipient: Neal Minahan
Neal Minahan, a partner with McDermott Will & Emery in Boston, has yielded more than 2,500 hours of pro bono work in eight years, primarily because of a series of landmark civil-rights cases affecting incarcerated people in Massachusetts. His commitment to the civil rights of inmates in the prison system has resulted in broad institutional reforms and has set an important precedent for the rights of incarcerated people.
