ABA Calls on UN Security Council to Protect Syrians
In response to the latest violence in Syria, including the murders of unarmed families—and children—the American Bar Association calls upon the United Nations Security Council again to exercise its responsibility to protect Syrians under attack by their own government and to refer this incident to the International Criminal Court for investigation. A just and credible rule of law demands that these crimes and their perpetrators be halted and held to account. Strong and prompt action by the UN and the international community is needed to protect both human lives and human rights in Syria.
