Grassroots in Action: Lawyers Converge on Capitol Hill to Help Ensure Justice for All
ABA Day in Washington brings together volunteers from state, local, territorial and specialty bar associations to speak to their elected representatives on issues critically important to the profession, their clients and the public at large. ABA Day in Washington is just one example of the association’s year-long grassroots advocacy effort.

Highlights from the event include a reception and dinner honoring members of Congress for their contributions to improving the justice system, and a reception at the Supreme Court to thank the people and organizations who have made lasting contributions to the administration of justice.
“There is nothing more exciting than being in Washington when the ABA marshals its force for the protection of American ideals and takes action to assure access to justice for all,” said William C. Hubbard, Chair, ABA Day in Washington Planning Committee.
Join the ABA Grassroots Action Team to play a role in the development of public policy that furthers the interests of justice, promotes the legal profession and enhances the rule of law.

I was honored to be the rep. from Hawaii @ABA Day 2012. I was fortunate to spend time with Rep. Mazie Hirono, have lunch with with Rep. Colleen Hanabusa, Russell Kudo @Sen. Akaka’s office (Russell grew up in Kona), & meet w/Sen. Dan Inouye in his Appropriations Office. I enjoyed meeting Justice Sonia Sotomayor @the Supreme Court reception!
