Six Former Attorneys General Weigh in on Controversial Firing of Nine U.S. Attorneys During Bush Administration
Former Carter Attorney General Benjamin Civiletti raised concerns about “political flunkies” involved in the decision. Firing was “a dumb thing” but not illegal said former Reagan Attorney General Edwin Meese, “It was not what was done, but how it was done.”
