Speed Dating Inspires Effort to Jump-Start Lawyers’ Careers
More than one in three lawyers expects lay-offs at their firms this year, according to a study reported by the ABA Journal in January.
In an effort to help lawyers find jobs and network with others navigating through the recession, the Young Lawyers Division hosts speed networking—an adaptation of speed dating—on Feb. 13 at the Westin Copely Place Hotel at 11 a.m.
Via one-on-one conversations lasting four minutes—just long enough to make a good, strong introduction, say organizers—lawyers can make connections for later follow-up.
To prep: brush your teeth, practice your smile, grab copies of your resume and get your “elevator speech” in order.
Participation is limited to a first-come-first-served basis. All Midyear Meeting attendees are welcome to join the event.
