Veteran’s Day Statement from Karen J. Mathis, President of the American Bar Association

CHICAGO Nov. 13 – In their hearts, Americans have always acknowledged the important role of the military in our history – from Continental soldiers at Valley Forge to today’s high-tech troops in the Middle East.  As a member of a military family, I have been privileged to see firsthand how our military protects our great nation and has done so often under the worst of circumstances but always with bravery and dedication.

As we mark this Veteran’s Day, the American Bar Association and lawyers everywhere express our appreciation and gratitude for the contributions of the men and women of our military — past, present and future
