Connecticut Lawyer Rosemary Giuliano is New Member of ABA Board of Governors

CHICAGO, Aug. 9, 2005 — Rosemary E. Giuliano of the Woodbury, Conn., law firm Giuliano & Richardson, LLC, took office today for a three-year term as a member of the Board of Governors of the American Bar Association. Her term began at the conclusion of the ABA Annual Meeting in Chicago.

As governor of the ABA’s 2nd District, Giuliano will represent Connecticut, Michigan and Massachusetts. The board meets at least four times yearly to oversee administration and management of the association.

Giuliano is a long-standing member of the ABA, having served as Connecticut state delegate to the association’s policy-making House of Delegates since 1996, and has been active as a member of the Standing Committee on Solo & Small Firm Practitioners, the National Conference of Bar Presidents, and the Steering Committee of the Nominating Committee.

Giuliano is also very active in the Connecticut Bar Association, having served as president, and continues to be a member of the Women & the Law Section and the Family Law Section. She also served as chair of the Pro Bono Committee, Professionalism Committee and Awards Committee.

Giuliano also served as president, vice president and director of the New England Bar Association as well as the director of the Waterbury Bar Association.

Outside of her work for the bar, Giuliano serves as a Waterbury Superior Court attorney trial referee, a Litchfield Superior Court special master, and a regional family trial docket special master. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Statewide Legal Services of Connecticut, Inc. and as a member of the Connecticut Law Tribune Editorial Board.

Giuliano received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Connecticut Law School and her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Smith College.
