ABA Section OfoFamily Law Releases Guide for Individuals Facing Divorce

CHICAGO, Oct. 1, 2004– The ABA Section of Family Law has published a guide for individuals who are going through a divorce. Surviving Your Divorce and Beyond includes helpful articles on understanding the divorce process, divorce money matters, child custody issues and communicating with children. It also includes a bibliography of key resources for those involved in the divorce process.

Written by experts in the field of family law, the 40-page guide is written for the average person going through the painful divorce process. “Divorce has been described as perhaps the second-worst experience that can befall a person, surpassed only by the death of a child,” said Willard H. DaSilva, editor-in-chief of Surviving Your Divorce and Beyond. “This publication is designed to help people survive this ordeal, by illustrating ways for them to move forward and embark on a rewarding future life after the divorce,” said DaSilva.

Copies of the guide are available by calling the ABA Service Center at 800/285-2221 and referencing product code 513-1100-2701. The price per copy is $12.95. For additional information about the publication, please visit the section’s Web site at www.abanet.org/family/advocate/client.html.
